Overview
Rebel is a traditional handmade phinisi yacht built in 2020 in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Measuring 30m in length, she accommodates up to 11 guests across 5 cabins and 4spacious common areas. She also features an additional staff cabin, a fine wine cellar and an outdoor cinema under the stars. Inspired by the rich local craft of Indonesia and featuring hand-woven fabrics and carvings, the interiors are a blend of modern laid-back luxe with a tribal vibe. Rebel has been meticulously handmade using ironwood and teak by our friends the Hajis–a family of master craftsmen from Tanah Beru, Sulawesi.
Older phinisis traditionally featured sails, but all modern cruising yachts now feature engines capable of 6-8 knots that render them purely cosmetic, so, with Rebel, we took the ground-breaking decision to remove the masts in order to maximise space and allow light-filled cabins above deck for all guests. She also features a uniquely expansive roof deck: the perfect place for a group sunrise yoga session or to enjoy sunset cocktails and canapes. On board Rebel, every detail has been considered to allow guests to explore off-grid Indonesia in absolute comfort.
